Bitcoin Suisse charges a crypto custody fee for safeguarding crypto assets held in crypto accounts, including the Bitcoin Suisse Vault account. This fee is assessed based on the total value of the crypto assets held with Bitcoin Suisse. The crypto custody fee is not charged on USDC, EURC, and fiat currencies held with Bitcoin Suisse.
The crypto custody fee is calculated daily in CHF based on the end-of-day values of all crypto assets held with Bitcoin Suisse (in crypto accounts and in Bitcoin Suisse Vault accounts). The crypto custody fee is accrued in CHF and payable quarterly (end of March, June, September, December). A minimum fee of CHF 62.50 for private individuals respectively CHF 1’250 for corporate clients applies per quarter. The minimum fee serves as a floor for the quarterly crypto custody fee. If the accrued fee amount does not surpass the minimum, clients will be charged the minimum amount instead. This generally occurs when the average value of crypto holdings with Bitcoin Suisse are below CHF 55’555.56.
Bitcoin Suisse employs a tiered fee structure, meaning that the fee percentage decreases for higher brackets as follows:
- For holdings up to CHF 5 million, the fee is 0.45% p.a.
- Additionally, for holdings between CHF 5 million and CHF 20 million, the fee is 0.40% p.a.
- Additionally, for holdings between CHF 20 million and CHF 100 million, the fee is 0.35% p.a.
- Additionally, for holdings exceeding CHF 100 million, the fee is 0.30% p.a.
If clients are using custody services of the Bitcoin Suisse Vault, there is a 0.20% p.a. surcharge on the crypto holdings stored in the Bitcoin Suisse Vault. The Vault custody fee also applies to USDC and EURC holdings stored in the Vault. You can find more information about our Vault services in the "Custody – Bitcoin Suisse Vault" section.
The crypto custody fee is subject to Swiss VAT (excl.).
